Kathy is a 5th generation Lewiston resident; growing up in the Orchards. She later attended and graduated from The International Air Academy in Vancouver WA. She owned and operated Betty’s World of Travel, a successful small business in Lewiston for 24 years. Now retired, Kathy and Husband Larry live in a historic home in Normal Hill built in 1906.

In 2008 Kathy became involved in Lewiston City Government as a concerned citizen helping to create Normal Hill Mixed Use Zone between the College and the Hospital and for 8 years chaired the Normal Hill Heritage Association which spearheaded the Normal Hill Heritage Overlay successfully approved by City Council in November of 2016. She was appointed to Lewiston Planning and Zoning Commission in 2012 and served for 5 years; 2 years as Vice-Chair and 2 years as Chair. During her final year on the commission she helped lay the foundation for Lewiston’s Homeless Shelters.

Kathy and her husband enjoyed a 5 year involvement with the American Empress Cruise Ship calling on our community. Their home was stop number 3 on the Empress’s Hop-on Hop-off bus tours through Lewiston and Spaulding as a part of Idaho History Tours. During that time they hosted a short visit with over 9,000 American Empress guests touring their home.

During her terms elected to City Council, Kathy will be promoting tourism, development of the Downtown Waterfront area, rebuilding of our aging infrastructure with a maintenance program to maximize our investment ,developing a consistent and strong Code Enforcement, while supporting our Police Department, Fire Department and Health Department to keep our citizens safe and creating a prosperous community where young people will want to live and raise their families.
